Dear guests,

we - the Straußi team - invite you to Baden specialties, which you can enjoy in our rustic, cozy atmosphere. We have rebuilt the former large cattle barn with a lot of effort and attention to detail and have created a special atmosphere in recent years.

We offer a wide range of Baden specialties and attach great importance to the best ingredients from the region. In addition to the dishes on the regular menu, it is also possible to order special menus and courses on request. In addition, a cold beer or a few quarters of good wine from the Buchholz wine cooperative. Our naturally cloudy juices, which come from the family's farms, are also delicious.

In summer, a cozy summer terrace with a visible children's playground invites our little guests to linger.

The Straußi offers enough space in its cozy rooms for:
Club and company outings, family celebrations, travel groups, celebrations and festivals of (almost) every kind

Our "Wanderheim" is available for undisturbed celebrations. Thomas Kury found the hut in Poland, saved it from demolition and rebuilt it here with great commitment. The cottage can accommodate groups up to 35 guests. Overnight accommodation is available on the upper floor.

The Straußi team and I hope to welcome you as our guests soon.

We are looking forward to your visit,
Your Thomas Kury & team

Our history

The Straußi has been around since 1989. It's hard to believe, but it used to be used as a livestock stable before Siegfried and Roswitha Kury converted it into an ostrich farm. The Kurys acquired the full concession as an inn a year later, but the ostrich character has been retained to this day.
Since October 2000, the new owner Thomas, one of Siegfried and Roswitha Kury's children, has taken care of this. The wooden benches, tables and chairs are specially made by him, it is simply rustic and cozy. In summer, guests enjoy food and drink in the garden restaurant, while the splashing of the fountain contributes to the cosiness. A waterproof awning protects against rain and strong sunlight.
And a lot has happened on the inside over the past year as well. Thomas Kury has almost doubled the size of the economy. The new room continues the tradition and shows in an impressive way how much love was put into the garden.
The latest extension of our guest rooms consists of our rustic and cozy "Wanderheim", which - found and dismantled in Poland - was rebuilt here in new splendor.
